How do you unlearn?

The Bible talks about renewing your mind, but when you grew up watching your parents and environment shape your perspectives as right or wrong, how do you unlearn the traits you picked up?

I mean lasting change/unlearning? I will admit that I sometimes fall back into some of the negative thoughts, feelings, and perspectives that I encountered and experienced growing up.

I often catch myself, and I get discouraged because I should be further along than this. I understand so much more, but didn’t Paul say, “When I would do good, evil is present” (Romans 7:21 KJV)

When we talk to people like me who are trying to figure this out, we need to be able to provide more than just a scripture; we need to offer steps and practical applications.

I will wait while you guys gather your answers.

Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

Blessings
