They say your family is not always the one you’re born into; they are the ones you make.

I think there’s some truth to that, but I also believe that people are seasonal and families are made up of seasonal people who come in at different stages of our lives. Friends are the same as well, seasonal. Some are lucky to have a friend who stands the test of time, but still, we all experience seasons.

My family happened in stages. I had my family when I was a baby, then there was my young adult family, my teenage family, and now my adult family… If you look at it yours, you’ll see the changes.

Everybody grows and goes, which allows our circles to change. People come in, you get close, and build a family. Now that doesn’t happen with everyone you meet, but there are those who just fit right in like a puzzle piece, and it’s wonderful!

And there are those who leave, and when they leave, it’s like an unfillable hole, but The Most High always sends someone to be that filling.

Ever wonder why Christ chose the men he did to be his disciples? I think it was because the Most High, His Father, knew who he needed to be surrounded by.

So the Most High set him up with different levels of support through the disciples.

The Father gave him family, some would stay till the end, and some were seasonal.

Christ’s life here was truly a roadmap for us and what we’d experience, how amazing!

So enjoy your seasons, some are harder than others, some people you don’t get a sub for, but if you’re paying attention, The Most High will give you someone who knows that void, and together you comfort each other.

I started with acknowledging that the family you start with is not always the constant, that it evolves and changes… Even though our circles change, keep one thing constant… love with the love of Christ! Leave a lasting impression on those who’ve come and gone, show them Christ no matter how difficult it is, and no matter what you’re going through.

Learn from them and get the lesson for that season.

Just like a bag of peanut M&M’s, you get different colors; that’s what family looks like.

So don’t be afraid when your family changes or to make your family or when someone leaves, it’s all part of growth.

May The Most High always send you what you need! May you always show whoever they are the Love of Christ. May your circle never stop changing because just like you need them, they need you!

Bless You Family
